Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how the Hisab Android app (“Hisab”, “the App”) handles information. Hisab is a personal expense and net-worth ledger. Your financial entries are stored on your device. The App does not create a Hisab user account and does not sync your ledger to Everyday Digital servers.
1. Information stored on your device
Hisab stores the following locally on your phone (Room / SQLite and app preferences), including:
- Expenses, income, transfers, categories, accounts, and related notes
- Net worth holdings, ornaments, records, trips, pads, and reminders
- Optional documents/images you attach (for example invoices)
- App settings such as theme, hide-amounts preference, and last backup time
- A hashed PIN (not stored as plain text) and whether biometric unlock is enabled
- Whether Hisab Pro has been unlocked on this device (local cache of purchase status)
Biometric unlock uses your device’s system biometric APIs. Fingerprint or face data stays with the operating system and is not read or stored by Hisab.
2. Information we do not collect ourselves
Everyday Digital does not operate a Hisab cloud backend for this app. We do not receive your expenses, balances, PIN, backup files, or attachments unless you choose to send them yourself (for example by emailing a backup or export).
3. Backups, restore, and exports
- Backup / restore: You can create an encrypted backup file and save or share it through apps you choose (Files, Drive, Mail, and so on). Restore reads a file you select. Everyday Digital does not host these files.
- Exports: Excel/PDF exports you create are files on your device or shared by you.
4. Ads (free version)
If you are not on Hisab Pro, the App may show banner ads using Google AdMob. Google and its partners may collect device and advertising identifiers and usage data related to ad serving, according to Google’s policies.

Purchasing Hisab Pro removes ads in the App.
5. In-app purchases (Hisab Pro)
One-time purchases and restore are processed by Google Play Billing. Google handles payment details. Hisab only receives purchase status needed to unlock Pro features and may cache that status on your device.

6. Notifications
Payment reminders use on-device notifications you schedule in the App. Reminder content is not sent to Everyday Digital.
7. Network access
The App may use the internet for:
- Loading ads (free users)
- Purchase, restore, and license checks with Google Play
Your ledger data is not uploaded to Everyday Digital as part of normal use.
8. Children’s privacy
Hisab is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). Do not use the App if you are below the applicable age.
9. Data retention and deletion
Local data remains on your device until you delete entries, clear app data, or uninstall the App. Uninstalling removes the local database and preferences on that device. Backup or export files you previously saved elsewhere are under your control.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the App’s practices change. The effective date at the top will be revised. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
